Experimental studies into the limits of proton beam writing
Proton beam writing will be used to fabricate templates for metal electroplating. The goal is to fabricate high density patterns with very close proximity (less than 100 nm). In this way we plan to create surface topography that can be used in several areas like enhanced Raman spectroscopy, studies into energy transfer in polymer solar cells and polymer molecular electronics.

Fabrication of Nanofluidic channels for DNA analysis
Lithographic techniques like proton beam writing and UV lithography will be used to create a master in resist polymers. This master will be tested on its functionality to replicate nano fluidic channels through nano imprinting and PDMS soft lithography.
These channels will be used to study fundamental characteristics of DNA. As well as fundamental fluidics behavior at the nano scale.
